Plant Practice: From Possibility to Place

Super Bloom is an adaptive and purposefully small plant practice working across Australia and internationally. We bring plant passion, authenticity, technical expertise, and design vision to projects with plants matter.

As recognised practitioners, our practice of plants intersects what is progressive and possible in a changing climate with pragmatics of place and people.

Multi-disciplinary teams for planting dreams

Staying small and agile enables Super Bloom to craft and care for planting possibilities we are passionate about, ensuring we are close to the projects and embedded in design teams with a palpable passion for what we cultivate.

Super Bloom cultivates what is possible with plants, with a track record of working across scale and with various disciplines and industries in Australia and Internationally.  Super Bloom are:

  • Design Partners. Plant creatives, planting design and strategy for major public realm projects and plant-driven small projects.

  • Planting Dreamers. Concept developers and designers for beauty and resilience in planting. Management frameworks and plant care models for horticulture and landscape teams.

  • Plant Schemers. Collaborators with designers and design studios beyond the plant world with plant curiosities and projects.

  • Makers and Plant Curators. Plant x Art projects and installations. Planting design layouts and considered care with high skill horticulturalists.

  • Plant Advocates. Confidence and comfort with plants for the public through experience, story telling, publications and media.

Plants for the People

Super Bloom can be like a horticultural show runner for plant projects and adapt for the context to cultivate beauty and resilience. As passionate collaborators, Super Bloom works across disciplines to create planting dreams and schemes that push boundaries and nurture public experience while remaining grounded in ecological perspectives in a changing climate. Super Bloom work across scales and disciplines, bringing authentic perspectives and plant directions to both public and private projects. Our mission is plants for the people, no matter the project.

Growing Impact

Social impact isn't an afterthought – it's woven into our practice. Since our start, Super Bloom has invested in emerging practitioners and opportunity for plant people with diverse voices. Super Bloom actively pursues industry change through research, relationships, and a commitment to growing the next generation of plant people.

Our areas for reciprocity and advocacy in 2025 are living wages for professional gardeners, diverse participation in industry leadership and the development of diverse emerging practitioners.

Explore Our Work

Explore Super Bloom’s work focuses on bringing living beauty and plant expertise to projects, people, and places.

Jac Semmler's work emphasises the transformative power of plants, real life plant experiences (or, as we like to call it ‘plant nerding’) and innovation in dry summer complex planting design.

We are big believers that plants are for all.
