FEATURE PRESS:

Good Weekend feature: WILD AT HEART

The idea is both brazen and shocking. It runs counter to all we’ve come to expect from public urban spaces in the 21st Century. ‘Fill it with flowering plants is just not the sort of thing we do with an open 18,000 square metres in the heart of one of Australia’s most built-up cities.

LAAK BOORNDAP

In the beating heart of Melbourne’s city centre will sit the 18,000 square metre development Laak Boondap, meaning ‘sky country’. In amongst the bustle and rigidity of city buildings, Laak Boondap will be a celebration of nature - bringing the wilderness and the gentle notes of nature to the heart of the city.

Major public realm projects

WELcoming Wonder

In amongst the built-up urban environment of Abbotsford, surrounded by concrete, roads and traffic, a whimsical oasis of wonder is blooming. Abbotsford Convent’s bloom invites visitors to experience the joy of a blooming meadow up close, bringing a warm welcome to the city.

Small scale public experience

PLEASANCE

Brought to life in partnership with architecture firm Fallow at AGSA invites visitors to connect deeply with nature through a series of living sculptures. Reflecting the serene surroundings of the nearby Karrawirra Parri/River Torrens.
